Overview
In Poland, nearly 4 million women are out of work. Many face barriers when seeking employment due to career gaps incurred during maternity leave and subsequent responsibilities of childcare, which fall disproportionately on women. Due to a lack of workplace support, it is difficult for women to balance their work and domestic responsibilities, and the time they can spend investing in their education and training is reduced. These “motherhood penalties'' significantly limit women’s access to the labor market and impact the quality of job opportunities available, wages and career advancement.
Mamo Pracuj is a social enterprise committed to diversifying the tech workforce in Poland with women’s talent. It provides technical training and wraparound services to ensure that women are equipped to stand out during the recruiting process and thrive in their roles long after hiring. Since its founding in 2011, Mamo Pracuj has created an impactful and widely recognized career development network for women.
In addition to enhancing labor inclusion throughout Poland, this supports companies to encourage greater workforce inclusivity, improving productivity and innovation in their businesses.

The Mamo Pracuj Foundation joined the NESsT portfolio in August 2020. With the support of NESsT’s investment, in October 2021, Mamo Pracuj launched Women’s Talent Bank – Talenti.pl, an online platform to provide recruitment services to women who receive mentoring, coaching, and job counseling from the enterprise. Additionally, Mamo Pracuj is leveraging NESsT's extensive network to enrich its training curriculum, ensuring that it can adapt to the evolving demands of tech companies.
Since the start of the war in Ukraine, Mamo Pracuj has supported almost 600 Ukrainian women fleeing the war zone in securing economic self-reliance and enhancing their job readiness. In addition to online consultations, the social enterprise also offers an ever-growing range of wraparound services by refugees for refugees.
In 2022, Mamo Pracuj joined the NESsT Refugee Employment Initiative. Over the next five years, the enterprise plans to provide career support to an additional 1,350 refugees.
